Today, I finally remembered as I sat down that I had to re-outline my non-fiction book, and got to work doing that, instead of trying to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic, as it were.
I have rearranged the structure of the first half of the book to make more sense and avoid repetition (I think), but I’ll admit, it’s a little depressing looking at everything I’m going to have to rewrite, even the stuff from the beginning that introduced the structure of the book, in order to make this work.
And for now, I only have a rough re-outline. I still have a few details that I need to go back in and organize as I go.
My next step is to go back to the intro, decide what needs to be rewritten and how, and outline each of the individual sub-sections so that I can stay on track as I write my way forward.
Yeah, I should have done all of this well in advance. I don’t know what I was thinking.
