I am working on yet another coaching project, so my novel is still on hold, but rather than focusing entirely on the coaching to plow through as quickly as possible, I’ve realized that I need to adjust my schedule.
Specifically, I need to reintroduce a brief morning exercise routine into my morning writing time. I used to do 10 minutes of exercise first time in the morning each day, as long as I was well, before even making my coffee. But when I started my walking dictation in the morning, I switched that up, counting the 30-40 minute walk as my exercise.
The rest of my exercise routine – sit-ups, push-ups, lunges, and other things not conducive to dictating at the same time – fell away. And I think I am paying the price in strength and also a little paunch. So, it’s time to get back into it, even when I do get back to dictating later.
Must stay healthy to keep writing.
