Yesterday, I wrapped the first draft of my first scene. Now, it’s time to go back to the planning phase for scene 2. So far, I have been working on describing the scene’s arc and trying to work out in my head how it will play out.
I also need to describe the setting and a new minor character for this scene. Both are rather minor, so they can be one-dimensional, as long as they serve their purpose through their relationship with my hero and her arc, but still, I need to get the physical description (my bete noir) right.
This is my first time switching back from writing mode to planning mode. I do like planning with the knowledge of what happened in the previous scene. But we’ll see how this plays out in the long term and how well I can keep my brain switching gears.
