This morning, I passed on the dictation walk and wrote at my keyboard to much more success than yesterday. Instead of falling short, I nearly doubled my wordcount total.
It helped that I got out of the start of the scene and into the discussion that was the meat of the scene. Eventually, I think I’m going to need to add more movement to the scene, but for now, getting it out, it seems to be flowing well. Having my notes on hand to be able to refer to is helpful for that.
I’m still much more practiced at the finger writing, and it is certainly tempting to stick to that, but I will keep up the practice of dictation. I just have to figure out how to best refresh my memory before I start to make the most of it.
