Today, I was outlining the third scene, plus planning the general gist of the fourth , so that I know where this one will lead.
Fortunately, scene 3 takes my hero back to a setting she visited in the first scene and all of the characters are major characters that I have already written out, so I won’t have to do any scene-setting or character work before I can start working on the writing.
I’m considering that scene three might end up being the first scene of the novel. The others set the scene for the conflict that begins in scene three – this is where I first bring my opponents on stage – but it might just be possible to skip past all of that and introduce the necessary information from the first two scenes later. But that’s a question for edits and revisions, later.
For now, I have the plan in place, in just a single day, and I’m ready to return to writing again tomorrow!
