I finished the review for the first client in my coaching queue today and ended up with 3500 words of comments on a 1500 word paper. You can’t accuse me of a light touch.
It might make sense to be less thorough and simpler in my comments – sometimes I worry that I might be blasting my clients with too much at once. But my goal is to solve every issue at once, and all in a written document, for now. Multiple passes and live feedback sessions would probably be a better approach, but I would need to charge more for that and arranging live sessions is always a challenge with time differences and my limited time here.
Still, there must be some way to simplify this process. I have spent over three hours on this review already, which is not appropriate for what I charge. . .
Time to increase prices or introduce tiers? Something to consider.
