Today, I was working on the next book in my scholarship series and despite the challenge of putting the first words on the page, it still flowed much easier than my fiction. Of course, I’ve been blogging about this same topic for the last nine years, so it should flow easily.
Today, I was writing the intro and the summary of what the book will cover. Nothing exciting, but I always write in order, so that had to come first. During my next session, I have a little bit of mindset stuff to cover then I will get into the practical contents.
For non-fiction, I have a pretty clear approach to the first draft and revision. For the first draft, my goal is just to get all of the information onto the page. The revision process is to make sure that the explanations are clear to my readers and engaging. So, with that approach in mind, it’s a lot easier to just move forward and type my heart out.
