In my last post about my non-fiction book, I mentioned that I was having a hard time explaining the particular step I was describing without an example, but that the example I had chosen was not particularly great.
Today, I went back to approach that same section and decided to try splitting it up. I’m going to describe the process first and include the examples later. That way, I can include examples for a few different fields of study and readers can skip to the one that is most relevant for them, rather than being “forced” to read a single example, most likely in an irrelevant field, woven through the explanation.
This means that I have another long process of researching examples coming up in a few days, but I suppose that it can’t be helped. If I’ve never tried this process myself, I can’t really be sure that it works.
