Non-Fiction: 4500 words and a Coaching Call

I don’t often do live coaching anymore, but when I’m on the road (or in quarantine), I make an exception. This morning, I had a call with a family that wanted advice about the scholarship application process that I specialize in. But that wasn’t the end of my day, before and after the call, I got in 4,500 words on my current book about that very same process.

To be honest, that wasn’t as much as I was hoping for. Not after that 7,000 word morning I had a few weeks ago. But this chapter has been a little more difficult for me. I’m getting in the details of particular networking strategies and communications approaches, but I’m also trying to avoid being so prescriptive that I end up paralyzing my readers.

Because it’s been a struggle, I have found myself more tempted than usual by distraction, but I did get through about 2/3 of the chapter today. I have another day off coming in two days, and I hope to finish the rest of it then!

Take part in the journey!
