This morning, I managed over 5,000 words, including writing a few specific examples of emails to send and a worksheet, and finished the third chapter in my non-fiction book. There are only four chapters, each with multiple subsections, to they’re all quite long.
But now, I only have one chapter left, and it should be the shortest of the lot. If all goes well, I will have it outlined by this weekend and be able to cruise through on Saturday, the last day of my self-imposed quarantine.
I am finding it so much easier to write non-fiction than fiction. I think because the style of explaining comes naturally to me after a decade of blogging, plus teaching and tutoring experience before that. Besides, I have my notes and I know as I go through that I just have to explain them point-by-point, so I’m never worried about going off on a tangent (for long, anyway).
I hope I can get to the point that my fiction flows as easily!
