Today, I finished the first draft of my non-fiction scholarship book! It clocked in at just over 45,000 words, only about 5,000 more than what I was aiming for, which isn’t bad.
I was about to type, “Now it’s time to print out the manuscript and start my first editing pass.” But you know what? There’s something else that comes first: It’s time to celebrate.
I have earned myself a bag of gummy bears (that’s my reward system.) So, it’s time to enjoy, celebrate getting this far, and then get into that editing pass. I still want to try to get the finished product out within a month, if I can!
