I’m still working on the bonus email content for my non-fiction book, and I’m almost to the one-week threshold I set for myself to launch the preorder. Once I get one-week in, then I can feel comfortable about setting up a one-week preorder and know that I will be able to finish the bonus email course before the book goes live and my readers catch up to me in the email course.
Ideally, of course, I would have everything finished well in advance and a deliberate launch plan, but the problem is that for this year’s scholarship applicants, it is already well past the point where the book would have been most useful to them, and we are running out of time for it to be of any value at all. So, I want to get it out to readers as quickly as I can.
In the book, Chapters 2 and 3 describe different ways to reach the same goal, so my email course has to branch based on readers’ decisions. I’ve reached the split point in the email course, and am now preparing the messages for both sections. I have reached the one-week threshold with one branch and need to get the second one caught up. (The two will be rejoining later, so I do not need to keep up two complete branches throughout the rest of the chain.)
It’s getting to be so close!
