Today, I finished up the last few questions I had set in my character interview for my hero: Her likes, dislikes and her preference for spontaneity or planning (planning!)
Since my character has grown up rather sheltered in a castle up to the start of the story, a lot of her likes and dislikes (multiple spoons) are based on that environment and context. I expect that I will have to expand this list as she goes on her adventure, but for now, the current likes and dislikes – as well as the reasons behind them, should give me clues as to how she will react to new things.
I have tried to mix a variety of serious and petty preferences, and also give her some likes and dislikes that differ from my own, but that last one was a struggle. I almost considered making her like fish, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to do it. I don’t think I could write that convincingly.
With my hero interview wrapped up, tomorrow I am going to start developing my primary antagonist for this story.
