On this morning’s walk, I wrapped up my mid-level antagonist’s character interview and started the profile of my “pointy” antagonist, the one I intend to be most involved in this particular story, at least in terms of physical presence.
While I didn’t necessarily set out to write my antagonists this way, they are not exactly a united front. The pointy antagonist has more reasons to be allied with my hero than with the arch-antagonist, though she is bound to him, and there are a few other complex relationships that came just out of the writing.
But, when I got back to my desk to transcribe and was checking my blog while waiting for Dragon to do its thing, I discovered that when I updated WordPress yesterday on my two primary sites, everything broke.
After quite a bit of flailing around, I identified the problem just before I had to go in to work. But as a consequence, I did not get my transcription edited and copied into Scrivener, so I’m going to have to take care of that tomorrow.
Long term, I might consider splitting my dictation and editing into different days, like editing the previous day’s transcription before moving on to that day’s dictation, so this could be a good test.
