It was still raining when I got up this morning, so I’m at my phone once again to type.
Of course, no sooner did I decide on that course of action than the skies started to clear, but I’m not about to hesitate and go back and forth. It’s got to be one or the other. Tomorrow, weather permitting, I’ll go back to my walking dictation.
Today, it was helpful to be typing, since I came up to a scene that I hadn’t plotted out in advance. During yesterday’s writing, it became clear that a short cut scene would be perfect to add to the drama of the post-Inciting Incident aftermath, so I’m adding that in before returning to my hero and her best friend in the castle. This scene is going to set them up for danger that they are completely unaware of as I build to the first point where my hero is finally going to have to make her decision about how to handle this situation.
I will try to pick up the rest of this scene with dictation tomorrow. At least now that I’m writing on my phone, I can take my notes and what I’ve written so far with me easily.
