B1P Day 16: Describing a Haughty Princess – Verbally

Today, I took my new transcription set-up out for a spin for the first time. I went for a 30-minute walk down the back road into the forest and rice fields below while dictating my jester character (that haughty princess from the title). I got through her physical description, personality, and habits and just started the character interview as I was walking back into the house.

The transcription system is decently accurate. I didn’t have to make too many corrections. I think I can improve the accuracy by speaking more clearly, as well. I certainly need to train and practice more in that area.

In terms of the character, I struggle a bit to describe people who are obsessed with fashion and appearance, like this character is, but I’m going to solve that at the very start of the book by taking her away from that environment and putting her in a mess. For now, though, I had to know what she was used to, so I could better describe the difference that she had to go through.

I am excited to get into her character interview tomorrow, especially using the transcription set-up. This will have me dictating her character in first person, so I hope that will help me really get a better feel for her unique character.

Take part in the journey!
