This is the part that starts to scare me.
Today, I started trying to construct my scene list. Last time, I think this is part of where I went horribly wrong, but putting way too many unnecessary steps in the way.
This time, I need to make sure that I’m keeping the story down to the parts that are essential to the plot. I’m trying to build the scene list around the plot order, while fleshing out my characters and settings at the same time, but we’ll see how it goes.
For now, I only have my beginning, my inciting incident, and my climax. Aside from the establishing scenes at the very beginning, everything from the inciting incident through to the climax needs to advance the plot. So, I have to come up with exciting scenes that will highlight each point that I want to make.
I think I’m going to start with the major tentpole moments in the story so that I can make sure the plot points go from one to the next.
Ahhh, this is so nerver-wracking! I don’t want to seed failure at this point again!
