After years of hearing about BookFunnel in podcasts, often from Damon Courtney himself, and recommendations for direct book sales from Joanna Penn as well as others, I decided to set up my accounts on both sites for future direct sales.
While I have been working with Gumroad in the past and haven’t had any particular problems with them, I like BookFunnel’s delivery system, having used it myself in the past, and I know it is the best known and regarded service for delivering ebooks among the reading public, so I wanted to make the switch. I’m also looking forward to using it to deliver my reader magnets when I finally get my fiction going!
Setting up Payhip was easy, but BookFunnel crashed while I was trying to set up my profile, so that’s still a work in progress. I have to get both accounts set up and integrated for the sake of delivery, so I assume that’s going to take another day or two of work. But so far, the process has been wicked easy.
