Coaching Continues (and a Distraction)

My current coaching client had previously bought both of my books and says he read the articles on my website, but if that is the case, it seems that he decided not to apply the advice there. This application needs a lot of work and the review is going slowly. For one part, I had to send it back to say that I recommended a major overhaul before even beginning the review.

That experience reminded me of the advice for working with editors. I consistently hear that you should make your book the best you can on your own before sending it to a professional editor, so that the editor can take it to the next level instead of returning a bunch of comments about things you should have caught, yourself. That’s how I felt about this review. If I tackled it now, I could take it from awful to possibly acceptable, but it would benefit the client more if it was already acceptable or better so that I could try to get it to great.

So, that distraction: I’m a few years late to the game, but I just downloaded Pokemon Go and I’m in that new excitement phase. So far, it has contributed to me walking (and this morning jogging!) more, which seems like it will be a good thing for me long-term. I do a little exercise indoors each day, but getting outside more and taking more opportunities for walks can only help!

Take part in the journey!
