This morning, we are off for a family overnight to a hot spring resort a few hours away. (Still within our area, though, staying safe from COVID).
With all the family together and staying in a single hotel room, I know I’m not going to be able to get any writing done tomorrow morning, so I’m not even going to bother bringing the computer. The coaching project will be on hold for a day.
I am going to bring my printed rough draft for editing, though. If I get time – perhaps waiting in the room with sleeping kids while my wife hits the baths, I can work on it then and get some sense of accomplishment.
In the meantime, this also means about 8-9 hours of driving over the next few days and despite my American roots, I’m out of practice and I anticipate that amount of time in the car is going to wear me down.
It’s a challenge for the writing, but it is worth it for the family, and that’s ultimately my top priority. Even though the site is AuthorDad, being Dad comes first.
In the meantime, I did get about another half-page done in my coaching review and I’m on to the final sections of that document, so I am looking forward to finishing it up soon after I return from the trip.
