Today, I finished the last content section of my non-fiction book! All that is left is to write up the conclusion to the final chapter as well as the end matter. Much of that end matter is already written, since it’s consistent with the other books in the series, so I should be nearly done with the first draft!
Of course, there is still a lot to write, since I have bonus documents to include as well as a companion email course to walk readers through the book and keep them on track, but I can work on those while I am editing, as well. Soon, I will at least have the book printed out and ready for the red pen.
It always feels exciting to get to this point with non-fiction, since the editing process is much easier than for fiction, at least in my experience so far. Still, I’m not sure that I can commit to finishing the book and publishing it by the end of March, so I’m not sure whether or not to notify my mailing list. . . but that’s the next thing I have to consider.
