Oops. I forgot to update over the weekend. But I have been making good progress. I finished the first part of my coaching task and sent it back to the client for revisions. Now, I have a few days to work on my book and articles before it comes back for the next pass.
Using that time, yesterday, I redid the cover for my book. I had previously made the covers in Canva, but annoyingly, the Canva cover size does not meet the requirements for ebook sellers and is not at the required aspect ratio. It was good enough to create a thumbnail to use in previous books, but I had to rebuild the cover in GIMP to meet expectation.
And speaking of expectations, I tried to do my print and ebook covers together in order to make sure that they were consistent. The problem is that I had a hell of a time trying to get the right cover dimensions from Ingramspark for their required sizes. They have a template downloader, but it was buggy and would not let me get the size I needed. Fortunately I discovered that I already had one for the right page length from one of my previous books. As long as they haven’t changed standards since then, I should be OK…
So, using that, I got the cover done, and now I have downloaded a sample of the book, complete with cover, from the Reedsy editor for a final in-format proofread!
