Non-Fic: First Day of Applying Edits – Front Matter

Today, I started applying the handwritten edits into Scrivener and got through the first 20 pages, about 1/8 of the book. I have finished the front matter and started in on Chapter 1.

This process is anything but exciting, but progress is consistent and that part is motivational. I have also been adding future tasks to my list, like writing the companion email course to go with the book and creating the downloadable exercise worksheets. It looks like I’m also going to have to edit the cover, since I accidentally switched the spelling of “Advisor” and “Adviser” at some point. (Scrivener is trying to tell me that the former is not correct, but I disagree).

Lots of little things (though in terms of time, cover edits are anything but “little”). But I’m still making progress, so it isn’t getting me down. Keeping everything I have to do on a list also helps. That way, I can just focus on one thing at a time, in order.

Following up on yesterday’s efficiency note, while I had a little harder of a time rolling out of bed this morning, I am still avoiding my phone and finding that to be helpful! I think it contributed to accomplishing several more pages today than I would have otherwise.

Take part in the journey!
